We are delighted that DCA has secured €17,000 through the PeacePLUS Changemaker Fund. This funding will support a cross-community programme bringing together the fishing communities of Ardglass and Kilkeel. The project will see both communities collaborate to create lasting pieces of public artwork to be displayed in each other’s areas. DCA will be working with Newry Street Unite on the project, Jennifer Clements, Project Officer at Newry Street Unite commented.
“Newry Street Unite are delighted to be partnering with Down Community Arts and community groups in Ardglass for the People and Place project. Both Ardglass and Kilkeel have a rich maritime history and we are looking forward to exploring what unites us through this wonderful art programme. Partnership working is vitally important for us as a community group, actively building better relationships, developing a mutual respect and understanding of each other as well as fostering a stronger sense of community cohesion. We wish to thank Phillip Campbell and the Down Community Arts team for this fantastic opportunity.”
